RING
Revival of Indigenous Native Games
Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future.
RING - Revival of Indigenous Native Games, is envisioned as a state-level sports and cultural festival dedicated to reviving and promoting the indigenous sporting traditions of Manipur. It seeks to encourage youth participation and healthy lifestyles, strengthen social harmony and inter-community understanding, and create a platform to identify and nurture emerging sporting talent. At its core, RING aims to empower youth and foster leadership through the spirit of sport and shared cultural heritage.
The Manipur Upliftment Centre and the National Yuva Cooperative Society (NYCS) Ltd. have come together in a meaningful partnership to organise RING – Revival of Indigenous Native Games, combining their shared vision of human development, youth empowerment, and cultural preservation. This collaboration brings together the Manipur Upliftment Centre’s experience in community-based development and knowledge dissemination with NYCS’s extensive grassroots network and focus on youth-led initiatives across the country.
Through RING, both organisations aim to revive and promote indigenous games as a powerful medium for physical fitness, cultural identity, and social cohesion. The initiative seeks to engage youth in meaningful, activity-based learning while reconnecting them with their roots and traditional knowledge systems. By leveraging their complementary strengths, the two organisations are working to create a scalable model that not only celebrates heritage but also contributes to holistic development and nation-building.
This joint effort reflects a shared commitment to empowering communities, fostering pride in indigenous traditions, and creating opportunities for youth to participate, excel, and lead.

Manipur Upliftment Center
Integrating KNOWLEDGE and ACTION
The Manipur Upliftment Centre is a non-profit society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, in 1983. Since its inception, the organisation has been committed to advancing human development through a holistic and integrated approach that combines knowledge with action.
Its vision is to establish itself as an institution of excellence in the field of human development by harmonising the principles of Gyan Yog (knowledge) and Karm Yog (action), as inspired by the spirit of the Gita. The organisation seeks to integrate various dimensions and sub-systems of human development to create meaningful and sustainable impact.
The Centre’s mission is to promote human development as a distinct management discipline and profession, parallel to business management. To achieve this, it undertakes a range of activities including the implementation of model development programmes tailored to the needs of communities, creating successful models that can be replicated elsewhere. It also focuses on the dissemination of knowledge through training programmes for trainers and beneficiaries, as well as by organising workshops and conferences.
In addition, the organisation provides research and advocacy services aimed at empowering disadvantaged sections of society, with a particular emphasis on women, thereby contributing to inclusive and equitable development.
